Orionids Tonight

If you’ve got clear skies this evening, prepare for a celestial light show as our planet passes through a debris cloud left by Halley’s comet.

(Personal note:  Ever since moving to NH, I have been gifted with an unending series of cloud-covered skies for every single meteor shower since 2007.  Tonight does look to be different – the prediction is “mostly clear”, but I’ll believe that when I see, or don’t see, meteors. Please do what I probably won’t be able to and take a gander!)

Predictions are that the number per hour is on the rising side of a 12 year activity cycle.
