Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is back, giving me my Marvel/Avengers filler whilst there are no new movies to keep me entertained on the big screen (I’ve already worked my way through the movie catalog again during the summer). But. now Agent Coulson is now Director Coulson, there are a bunch of new people, who aren’t agents, but have been recruited (much like Skye), Ward is locked up and went a bit crazy…but knows all about Skye’s dad and Simmons left and Fitz thinks she is still around.
What on earth has happened to the gang who are picking up the tasks too small for the likes of Iron Man and Captain America?? I thought this episode would be a good time to introduce my friend to the show, who has just got into the films. There is no point taking someone who isn’t an avid fan through the entire series, as I just won’t convince him to work his way through the half way mark. But whilst he was confused as to what was going on, my total confusion with this new series meant I failed for bringing him ‘up to speed’. This is clearly one of those occasions where you need to repeat the last few episodes to remind you where the show was to understand where it is going.
But equally, I felt the show wasn’t just confusing, but we’ve jumped straight into S.H.I.E.L.D. being reborn. What happened in-between? The most exciting moment was seeing a flashback to Agent Carter upon collecting the last of some top secret Hydra stuff. What is it? Will we discover during Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. or will all be revealed during the filler show Agent Carter? This is all to exciting, the more these shows and films cross over the closer I get to my TV screen!
