Who doesn’t love a good cartoon?
Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?
From Disney’s inception of Steamboat Willie (still under copyright, lol) to Max Fleischer, thru Betty Boop, to the zaniness and (inappropriate?) violence of Chuck Jones and even up to today’s prime time offerings such as The Simpsons and Futurama, cartoons frequently allow us to say and enjoy things that would, under other circumstances and in other media, bring into question our very humanity.
But then when you think cartoons, you’re not thinking philosophy, culture, morality or pondering the greater mysteries of the universe, are you? Doubtful, very, very doubtful.
More likely you’re just enjoying the moment.
